Typing Urdu on a phone is hard when you think in Roman Urdu. Our Roman Urdu Keyboard converts what you type in English letters into Urdu script instantly — no app to install.
How it works
- Type in the left box: “assalam o alaikum, mera naam ahmad hai”.
- Urdu script appears automatically in the right box.
- Tap the on-screen Urdu keys to add any letter by hand, then copy the result.
Use it for WhatsApp messages, Facebook posts and TikTok comments. Capital T, D and R give you ٹ، ڈ and ڑ.
Roman Urdu Typing Tips
Type naturally — common words like hai, hain, main, kya, nahin convert automatically to ہے، ہیں، میں، کیا، نہیں. For tricky letters, use capitals: T for ٹ, D for ڈ, R for ڑ. Double vowels stretch the sound: “aa” at a word start gives آ. If a word does not convert, tap the on-screen Urdu keys to build it letter by letter, then copy the finished sentence.
Where to Use Your Urdu Text
Copy the converted Urdu anywhere: WhatsApp chats and status updates, Facebook posts and comments, TikTok captions, Instagram bios and YouTube comments. Urdu poetry and quotes look especially beautiful in proper script — pair them with decorative frames from the Name Decorator for status posts. The tool runs fully in your browser, so your typed text never leaves your device.
