Here is the truth most name sites skip: Valorant barely allows symbols at all, because your Riot ID only accepts letters and numbers. So this list gives you 45 Valorant names that create a symbol-styled look using only characters Riot actually approves, plus decorated twins for your Discord and socials where fancy symbols do work. To build your own, use our Valorant name generator and keep the results clean.
What Riot ID Actually Allows
A Riot ID has two parts: a Game Name of 3 to 16 characters and a tagline of 3 to 5 characters after the #. Both parts are limited to letters and numbers in most regions. That means ꧁ ꧂ frames, small caps, fancy fonts and emoji will be rejected when you try to save the name, no matter which site you copied them from. What does work is styling with structure: sharp capitalization, doubled letters, X and V substitutions, and numbers used like letters (0 for O, 1 for I, 7 for T). The names below are built on those tricks, so they pass Riot’s filter while still looking designed rather than random.

Pairing Your Name With Your Main
Many Valorant players quietly theme their ID around their main agent’s role rather than the agent’s name itself: duelists pick aggressive words like Riven or Vexel, controllers pick calm words like Quell or Ozone, and initiators pick sharp words like Hexis. It keeps the name personal without locking you into one agent when your pool changes. If you flex roles, choose a neutral word and let the tagline carry the flavour, since taglines are quicker to rotate when Riot’s change window opens.
Choosing Your Tagline
Your tagline is where personality fits best: agent codes like #JETT or #SOVA, numbers like #9999 or #1337, or short words like #FRAG and #DIFF. Since the full Riot ID is Game Name plus tagline, a common name can still be available with a unique tag. When you are ready to change, follow our Valorant name change guide. For pure tryhard picks, see the sweaty Valorant names list, and for decorated versions of any name, the name decorator and symbol library have every frame and glyph.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I put real symbols in my Valorant name?
Not in the Riot ID itself. Riot restricts Game Names and taglines to letters and numbers in most regions, so Unicode symbols and fancy fonts are rejected. The styled look on this page comes from capitalization, spacing tricks in other games, and number substitutions that Riot does allow.
Why do some players seem to have symbols in Valorant?
You are usually seeing their name on a third-party site, a tournament broadcast overlay, or a regional client that supports a local alphabet. In the standard Riot ID system, those characters cannot be saved.
How do I check if a Valorant name is taken?
Try to save it in the Riot ID change page. The name alone can repeat, because uniqueness comes from the name plus tagline combination. If your exact pair is taken, change the tagline first before changing the whole name.
